Readwise highlights sync into NewTwos as lists, one per source.

Why you'd care

Highlights are the classic write-only archive. Syncing them into NewTwos puts them where you search everything else, and makes them eligible for memories and spaced repetition.

Before you start

  • A Readwise account with highlights in it
  • Your Readwise access token

Connect

Add the token in Settings Advanced Readwise. Existing highlights come across, and new ones follow on an ongoing basis.

What comes across

Highlights, grouped into a list per book or article, with the source as the list name.

Removing it

Remove the token in settings. Lists already created stay, since they are ordinary lists at that point. Delete or archive them if you do not want them.

Going further

It can create a lot of lists. A heavy Readwise library becomes a large number of book lists. Archiving the ones you are done with keeps the Lists view usable. See archive.

Memorize the handful that matter. Syncing everything and memorizing three highlights a week is a better system than syncing and never reading.
