Before you start

A CSV or zip export from Todoist. Import in Settings Advanced Todoist.

What comes across

Projects as lists, tasks as to-dos, and due dates where they map onto reminders.

The bigger adjustment

Todoist is built around due dates and overdue states. NewTwos is built around days and carry-over, and nothing turns red.

Expect to import fewer tasks than you have. Most of a long-lived Todoist account is tasks that were never going to happen, and importing them faithfully just moves that problem. See carry-over.

Tips

  • Import the reference projects. Retype the ten tasks that are genuinely live.
  • Do not recreate your filter setup. Use the Things view filters instead, which cover most of it.
