Importing: what comes across
What imports generally preserve, and what they generally do not.
What survives, from any source
Text. The actual words always come across. That is the part that matters and it is reliably intact.
Rough grouping. Notes usually become lists, and items usually become things.
What generally does not
This is not a set of gaps to be closed later. NewTwos is a simpler model on purpose, and an import is a translation into that model.
The formats
Settings Data Import data accepts Markdown, plain text, CSV and JSON. Source-specific pages cover Apple Notes, Obsidian, Todoist, Evernote, Google Tasks and Microsoft Loop.
Importing safely

Export your existing NewTwos data first
So a bad import is trivially reversible. See export your things.

Import a small sample
One notebook, not the whole archive. Check it looks right.

Import the rest
Then clean up in bulk with the Things view. See select many things at once.
The bigger advice
Do not import in your first week. Use NewTwos on new material until days and carry-over feel natural, then bring the archive in. Importing first tends to recreate your old system, which is the main way migrations fail. See coming from another app.
