Texting a number saves what you send as a thing.
Why you'd care
It works from any phone, including one without NewTwos installed and without a connection to anything except the mobile network. That makes it the most robust capture route there is.
Before you start
- The integration turned on in Settings Advanced Text
- Texting from the phone number on your account, so it can be matched to you
What comes across
The message text, as a thing on Today or your default list.
Going further
Country coverage varies. Where texting is not available, WhatsApp covers similar ground. See WhatsApp.
Standard message rates apply, since it is an ordinary text message.
Settings that change this
- Settings Advanced Text turns it on and shows the number.
- Settings Advanced Automatically tag things from integrations tags captures by source.
Tips
- Save the number as a contact called NewTwos. It makes it a two-tap capture from your messages app.
- Worth setting up as a fallback even if you never plan to use it. It is the route that works when nothing else does.
