Discord
A command and a message action, the same shape as the Slack integration.
Before you start
- Permission to add an app to the server, or an admin who will
- The integration turned on in Settings Advanced Discord
Connect
Add the app to your server from the integration settings, connect it to your NewTwos account, then try the command.
The two routes
The command writes what you type as a thing. It takes an optional image.
A message action captures somebody else's message, which is the one that saves real effort. It brings any images along.
What comes across
The message text and its author.
Images come across too. A message action saves the pictures attached to that message alongside its text, and the command takes an optional image of its own, so you can save a screenshot with a note about it in one go. An image saved on its own becomes a photo thing. Copies are kept in NewTwos, so they still work after Discord's own links expire.
Removing it
Remove the app from the server and disconnect it in NewTwos settings.
Tips
- Good for a community where recommendations get posted and then buried.
- Add your own word when saving. A bare quote from a chat is rarely intelligible later.
