Apple Notes
Apple Notes come across using a Shortcut that reads your notes and writes them into NewTwos.
Before you start
- The Shortcuts app
- A decision about scope: all notes, or one folder
Connect
Run the Apple Notes import Shortcut. It reads your notes and creates a list per note.
Start with one folder rather than everything. It is much easier to judge the result on twenty notes than on two thousand.
What comes across
Note titles as list names, and note bodies as things, split by line.
Going further
Long notes become long lists. A note that was three paragraphs becomes several things, which is usually what you want in NewTwos but is a real change in shape.
Consider what to leave behind. Apple Notes archives are usually full of material nobody will read again. Importing selectively produces a better NewTwos account than importing everything.
Tips
- Import one folder, live with it for a week, then decide about the rest.
- Notes that are really documents may be better left in Apple Notes. NewTwos is a place for things, not for long documents.
