Shortcuts can write into NewTwos, which means Siri can too.

Before you start

  • iOS or iPadOS with the Shortcuts app
  • The NewTwos app installed and signed in

Connect

Build a Shortcut that adds a thing to NewTwos, then give it a phrase. Saying that phrase to Siri runs it.

There is a ready-made Add to NewTwos shortcut worth starting from rather than building one from scratch.

What comes across

The text you dictate, into Today or a list you name in the Shortcut.

The alternative

If you mainly want Siri capture without building anything, Apple Reminders sync is simpler. Siri writes to Reminders natively, and NewTwos syncs it across. See Apple Reminders.

Use a Shortcut when you want control over the destination. Use Reminders sync when you just want Siri to work.

Tips

  • Pick a phrase you would not say by accident. "Note to self" fires more often than you would like.
  • Set the destination list in the Shortcut rather than sorting afterwards.
