Google Tasks
Google Tasks import from a Google Takeout export.
Before you start
Request a Takeout export including Tasks. It arrives as JSON. Import it in Settings Advanced Google Tasks.
Takeout can take a while to prepare on Google's side, which is usually the slowest part.
What comes across
Task lists as lists, tasks as to-dos, due dates as reminders, and notes as thing notes.
Why this one is easy
Google Tasks is a simple model: lists, tasks, dates, notes. That maps almost directly onto NewTwos, so this is one of the cleaner imports.
Tips
- Take the chance to drop what you are not going to do. A Takeout export is a good moment to be honest about a task list.
- After importing, let carry-over take over rather than maintaining due dates by hand. See carry-over.
