Everywhere you are
Desktop
The desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux.
What it adds over the web
A global capture hotkey. ⌘⌃␣ opens a small capture window over whatever you are doing, whether or not NewTwos is focused. This is the reason to install it. See Quick Capture.
A menu bar presence with quick actions and a list you choose.
Start on login, so it is always there. Settings Advanced Start on login. Pair it with Settings Advanced Open window on login to decide whether the window opens on boot or the app waits quietly in the menu bar.
Links open where you want. Settings Advanced Open links in browser decides whether a link opens in your browser or inside the app.
Getting it
From the download page. Mac is also on the Mac App Store.
Worth setting up
- 1
The global hotkey
Pick a chord nothing else on your machine claims. This is the highest-value setup in the whole product.
- 2
Start on login
A capture tool that is not running is not a capture tool.
- 3
The menu bar list
Point it at whatever you are working on this month.
Settings that change this
- Settings Advanced Start on login launches NewTwos at startup.
- Settings Advanced Open window on login decides whether that launch opens the window.
- Settings Advanced Open links in browser opens links externally.
- Settings Advanced Quick Actions Widget configures the menu bar actions.
- Settings Advanced Widget List picks the menu bar list.
If it's not working
The hotkey does nothing. Another application has claimed it at the operating system level. Choose a different chord.
A blank window on launch. Usually starting up with no connection. Reconnect and reopen.
