Home
Home is a dashboard made of cards you choose.
Why you'd care
Today is a page you write on. Home is a page you read. For some people the useful first screen is not their current day but a summary: what is coming up, what came back from a year ago, which lists they touched recently.
What can go on it
Reflect, Memory of the Day, Week, Weekly Digest, upcoming reminders, on this day, chat, recent lists, to-do things, starred things, tags, recent things, mentions, the map, or any specific list.
Choosing and ordering them is a Plus feature. See customize Home. Pluscurrently free for everyone
Going further
Cards are live views, not copies. Acting on a thing in a card acts on the real thing.
Home or Today as your start screen? If you mostly write, start on Today. If you mostly review, start on Home. Set it in Settings Appearance & Accessibility Start on.
Three or four cards. A Home with twelve cards is a scroll, and the point of a dashboard is not scrolling.
Settings that change this
- Settings Appearance & Accessibility Start on makes Home the screen the app opens on.
Tips
- Put Memory of the Day on it. It is the card people say they open the app for.
- If a card is never acted on, remove it. Dashboards decay by accumulation.
