The scenario
You have notes. You reread them before an exam. Rereading does not create memory, and building a flashcard deck is enough work that you will not do it.
Set it up once

Set your review time
When you will actually do it. Settings Lists & <i>Things</i> Remember & review time.

Turn on the review badge
So you know something is due. Settings Appearance & Accessibility Review badge.

Make one list per subject
Not per lecture. Per subject.
The rhythm
As you learn: write facts as separate things, one fact each. A thing with three facts in it cannot be scored, because you will know one and not the others. Split them. See return, join and split.
Write the prompt, not the statement. A thing that reads as a question is testable. One that reads as a note is just something to reread.
Mark three or four a week to memorize. Not fifty. See memorize.

Make it yours
- Photograph the textbook page rather than transcribing. The text is read and searchable. See reading text in your photos.
- Ask AI to turn a paragraph into questions if you are stuck on phrasing. See Ask AI.
What this looks like after a month
Around fifteen facts genuinely in your head rather than in a notebook, and a review that takes two minutes because the ladder has widened on the ones you know.
The failure mode is adding too many at once. A review queue you dread is a review queue you abandon.
