Meeting notes

Notes that turn into to-dos without a separate processing step.

The scenario

You take good notes in meetings and then never look at them again, so the three things you agreed to do quietly do not happen.

Set it up once

  1. 1

    Turn on calendar sync

So the meeting is already in NewTwos. See Apple and Google Calendar.

  2. 2

Turn on the new list button on events

One tap from an event to a list for it. Settings Calendar & Reminders Show new list button.

  3. 3

    Turn on to-do detection

So "send the deck" is offered a checkbox as you type it. See to-do detection.

The rhythm

During: make a list from the calendar event and write into it. Do not format, do not organize. Accept the to-do prompts when they are right.

At the end, before you leave the meeting: select the to-dos and move them to Today. That is the whole processing step, and it takes five seconds. See select many things at once.

The notes stay on the meeting's list. The actions come with you.

Make it yours

  • Mention people on a shared list to hand items over. See collaborate on a list.
  • Ask AI to summarise a long set of notes into a few lines afterwards. See Ask AI.
  • Use a template if your meetings have a fixed shape. See templates.

What this looks like after a month

Your notes are searchable by who was there and what was said, and the actions are on your days rather than in a document. The change is small and the difference is that things get done.
