Your day

The week bar

The week bar is the row of seven days above Today, for moving between days and dropping things onto them.

Why you'd care

It turns "when" into a target you can point at. Moving a thing to Thursday becomes a drag rather than a date picker, and jumping to Saturday becomes a tap rather than four swipes.

The 60-second version

Tap a day to open it. Drag a thing onto a day to move it there.

Step by step

Jumping

Tap any day in the bar. The current day is marked, and days with things on them are indicated so you can see at a glance where your week is busy.

Dragging a thing onto a day

Grab a thing and drop it on a day. This is the fastest way to move something within the week, because it skips the picker entirely.

It works with a selection too. Select several things and drag the block onto a day to move them all at once.

Where it appears

The bar can show on Today, on the Capture view, or both. Turn each on in Settings Appearance & Accessibility Show week bar on Today and Settings Appearance & Accessibility Show week bar on Capture.

Going further

It is a week, not a calendar. The bar deliberately shows only seven days. For a fuller picture of what is on each day, use week view, and for months use the Calendar view.

Which day the week starts on is a setting. Weeks can start on Monday rather than Sunday, under Appearance.

Tips

  • Dragging beats the move menu for anything inside this week. The menu is for further away.
  • If you never plan more than a day ahead, turn the bar off. It is a real amount of screen space on a phone.

If it's not working

There is no week bar. It is off in settings, or you are looking at a list rather than a day. It only appears on days.

Dragging onto a day does nothing. On a shared list you may only have view access. On a phone, start the drag from the thing rather than from empty space.
