How your things are stored
What is private, what is not, and which features send anything anywhere.
The default
Nothing you write is public. Every public surface requires a deliberate action: publishing a list, showing it on your profile, or contributing to the world map. If you have never done those, nothing of yours is visible to anyone.
Where it lives
Your things are stored on NewTwos servers and cached on your devices, which is what makes sync, search and recovery work.
What sends data out
Worth being specific, since this is where people reasonably want detail:

Going further
Locks are screen privacy, not encryption. Blur, list passcodes and the app passcode control what is displayed. See passwords, 2FA and passcodes.
Location is opt-in and its precision is a system-level choice you control.
You can leave with everything. Export is available on every plan. See export your things.

Tips
- If you want maximum privacy, turn off AI features and the public side. Both are single switches and neither affects writing.
- Read the list of what leaves before deciding. It is smaller than most people assume.
