Why you'd care
The usual case is work and personal. Separate accounts mean separate days, separate lists and separate search, so work material never appears while you are looking for something at home.
The 60-second version
Add a second account in settings, then switch with ⌘', which cycles through them.
Going further
Nothing is shared between accounts. Separate things, lists, tags, streaks and settings. That is the point, and it also means there is no way to move a thing between them except by sharing a list.
A shared list is the bridge. If both accounts genuinely need something, collaborate between them. See collaborate on a list.
Plus is per account. Subscribing on one account does not make the other Plus.
Consider whether you need it. Two accounts is real overhead: two subscriptions, two sets of settings, and the daily cost of being in the wrong one. A tag or a separate list solves the same problem for many people.
Tips
- Give each account a different colour theme. It is the fastest way to know which one you are in.
- Learn the switch shortcut. Without it, switching is slow enough that you will stop bothering.
