Turn an anonymous account into a real one

If you started using NewTwos without signing in, adding a login keeps everything you have written.

Why you'd care

An anonymous account is a real account with one serious limitation: it exists on that device only. Lose the phone, delete the app, or wipe it, and your things go with it.

Creating a login is a one-minute job that removes that risk entirely, and it keeps everything you have already written.

The 60-second version

Open Settings Account Switch to username/password and add an email and password, or connect Google or Apple. Everything you already wrote comes with you.

What changes

  • Your things sync to the server and to other devices
  • You can sign in elsewhere
  • You get a profile, if you want one
  • Nothing you wrote is lost or moved

Going further

Do it early. The risk is not theoretical, and the conversion gets no easier with more material.

It is not a new account. This is the same account gaining credentials, not a migration, so nothing needs importing.

Do not sign out first. Signing out of an anonymous account before creating a login is how people lose everything. Convert, then sign out if you need to.

Tips

  • Do it on day one. It costs a minute and removes the only genuinely unrecoverable failure mode in the product.
  • Use a method you will remember using. Mixing Google and email later creates two accounts.
