Limits
What is limited, and what deliberately is not.
Not limited
How much you write. There is no cap on things, lists or days, on any plan. Writing things down is free and unlimited, and that is the central promise of the pricing model.
How many devices. One account, as many devices as you like.
How long anything is kept. Nothing expires or is aged out.

Platform limits, outside our control
Scheduled notifications on iOS. The operating system caps how many pending notifications an app may have scheduled at once. With very many future reminders, the furthest-out ones are scheduled as nearer ones fire. See reminders are not notifying me.
Apple Reminders subtasks cannot be read by any third-party app. See Apple Reminders.
Background location accuracy is decided by the operating system, which checks geofences on its own schedule to save battery. See location reminders.
Practical limits
Not enforced, but worth knowing: a list with several thousand things becomes slow to render. Split it or use headings. See NewTwos feels slow.
