Detection runs on the text you wrote. It does not go and research the thing, it recognises the shape of what you typed.
It is not exhaustive or perfect. Something obviously a book may not be recognised. Nothing depends on detection working, and everything remains an ordinary thing either way.
Two detections have their own settings, because they change your data rather than merely offering: to-do detection and date detection. Both are covered on their own pages.
